New Leadership Lake County Website Launches
The new Leadership Lake County website has officially launched and Flaxen is proud and excited to have been the agency selected for the project. Given that this is a website for a networking leadership group, the site has a heightened emphasis on enabling people to stay connected through a detailed events calendar, networking links and a password protected alumni database. Detailed forms mix with function and facilitate the ability to stay connected and involved. www.LeadershipLake.com

It's Showtime with Bond and Wolverine
After attending the play, A Steady Rain, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, Amy makes a donation to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS - the nation's leading industry based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. Broadway Cares funds the social service work of The Actors Fund, this donation specifically going to The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation who seeks to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. Reverse Draw A Hit!
Lisa attends the Leadership Lake County Reverse Draw fundraising event held at the Eustis Elks Lodge. This is the single largest fundraising effort for LLC with $20,000 raised -- $10,000 benefited the Leadership Lake County Class of 2009's community project and the LLC Alumni Association, and $10,000 was split by four lucky winners.

Walk 4 Animals
Walk for Animals. Flaxen's Luke Duesing prepared the logo and marketing materials for the Inaugural Walk 4 Animals to benefit all local Humane Society and breed rescue organizations. It's Fun to Hold 'em
In support of one of our favorite clients, breast cancer survivor Lisa Yonke of First National Bank, Amy hosts and sponsors a Texas Hold'em Tournament. Additional thanks to Fay Paquette who spent his time and efforts assisting her with the tournament and was in the final two with Lisa's brother, Shane Merriman. Over $2,000 dollars was raised to help in Lisa's fundraising efforts for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Event to End Breast Cancer that she participates in each year. Follow the Leader
Lisa helps coordinate and attends the Leadership Lake County SimSoc Event. Each year, current and emerging leaders are identified and recruited into the program which kicks off in October with an overnight retreat designed to build teamwork, enhance leadership skills, and examine the societal aspects facing our county.

Painting the Town
Michael joins the board of directors for the Mount Dora Center for the Arts and designs the materials for their upcoming fundraiser, Art of the Deal (show pic of you and some of the designs?) The Mount Dora Center for the Arts is a non-profit collaborative leader, which plays an integral role in the community, by demonstrating the passion and commitment to the development of the arts through progressive and diverse educational programs, dynamic exhibits and an arts festival which is the foundation of artistic expression within the community. Sweat of the Brow
Lisa volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and after months of hard work, Habitat for Humanity and the Leadership Lake County Class of 2008 completed the very first ENERGY STAR® rated Habitat home in the Lake-Sumter Chapter. The home was initiated as a class project by the Leadership Lake County Class of 2008. Their goal was two-fold - to help make home ownership a reality for a deserving family and to help the environment by building the chapters first EPA certified ENERGY STAR® home.
